Betty, When I first read your books years ago I started walking and later jogging. I kept hearing encouragement within to look up and run...keep your eye on the goal...push through discomfort to get to the end. I knew this was about something other than running a mile...it was God's way of showing me how to focus on the goals when life gets really tough. I would talk with God on those journeys and found a true sense of centering...I heard God talk to me more frequently and a foundation was formed. I was not sure why this was happening but I had a sense that I (we all) were being prepared almost as if for some difficult time or battle. I am deeply saddened by the events of recent days and yet I feel a calm resolution to carry on, to persist in the work I was sent to do. Prayers to help us fight back evil, prayers to lead others to the light, and prayers for added strength to meet his challenges became a daily ritual during my jogs. I felt compelled to pray these words daily although it seemed to me that all the reasons were not completely clear. Then, the weekend of the 8th and 9th I became very uneasy..almost a panic...I prayed to God "I can't shake this and I don't know whats happening but you know. I put it in your hands"...no relief...till the bombing took place and I felt a sense of understanding. Thank you for serving as a messenger. Your words have led me to this rock that stands firmly under me. May God use us all in the days ahead to carry out his work here on earth. May we continue to grow, pray, and live so that his purposes are brought to bear fruit. Stay focused on the goal! My love and prayers flow out to you all as you read this...kathy

hello, i have just finished reading your book "Embraced by the Light" and it really impressed me. Now you mentioned that you are a Native American and I have also just finished reading this wonderful book that talks a lot about the history of your people here in America between the year 600BC and 400AD. I got it from Mormon missionaries and it the Book of Mormon I wonder if you'd like to check it out cause i too am a decendant of these people...It's their records and their dealings with Jesus Christ. Hello from New York! Yestreday I vistited the Union Square in Manhattan. There is "Memorial" dedictated to all that died, to all that live, to all rescuers. There is a lot of peace letters over there. One of them: "Eye for the eye makes the world blind." Hello Betty and my "Embraced" Friends, I would like to offer a suggestion on how we as people can make a small contribution in the prevention of terrorism. Which is to stop consuming soft drinks. The reason being is that... It is believed that Osama Bin Laden(approx. worth 300 Million!) has a large stock holding in the Gum Arabic company in Sudan. They produce an additive that is used around the world in many products(candy,cosmetis and ESPECIALLY Soft Drinks/Sodas) called gum arabic.Now although Mr. Bin Laden has other outlets to increase his wealth. I feel, if their is ANY chance or action we can take at securing our own safety, in the wake of the recent National tragedy. We Should take that chance(besides soda doesn't do a body good anyway.). I have been a spiritual counselor for many years and my daughter Amy Lynn is a spiritual author of many self improvement books. Each of us has a talent or gift within us that someone is just waiting to receive. My mom now lives in a retirement home and works daily on adding flowers and plants to the premises and it has brought so much joy. I pray that all those people who lost a friend or a family member during last week's tragedy are blessed and given a multitude of comfort during this time. First of all I want to say that I'm very shocked what happened in America (I've been 5 times to America the last year), my thoughts are with the people who lost their loved ones and I truly hope that they one day when they are ready for it, that they will read your books because I think that they can be a big help to them. I also write this because last July I left a message in this guestbook, I was looking for your first book, Embraced by the light (it's not available anymore in our bookstores in The Netherlands). A woman, Philly Debije, saw my message and contacted me, once in a while we sended e-mails to eachother and she told me that she would look out for the book for me, and you know what's great she found it (she lives in the same province). One morning (my birthday) she went to a smal village and went into a bookstore and asked for the book, the woman behind the counter said that just half an hour ago, someone else asked for the same book, but they didn't found it, but to be sure they checked it together and took a look at the shelves and there it was, waiting for me, she asked the woman to keep it for me, and inmediately sended me an e-mail to tell me this, I was so surprised this was the best birthday present I could get, I was full of joy and I called her instantly, this was the first time we talked, I'm still very happy about it and we both think that this was ment to be, Thank you God, Thank you my Angels, Thanks to Philly, Thank you Betty for writing these wonderful books. Hi Betty, I had emailed you some months ago asking if you (along with myself in faith) beleived that if/when I ask God to hug my grandmother whom I miss dearly still, for me. You so graciously mailed me back. Thank you. Almost a year ago, my mother's mother passed over to be with Jesus. There was an episode a couple of weeks prior to her passing that I found to be just wonderful. The doctors had lost her for a time but she came back. What she shared with me brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. About a year and a half ago I had a miscarrage in my 5th month of a third pregnancy. We have two boys and we knew this one was a girl, although we couldn't tell and chose to wait to see. But everything about that pregnancy was so diffrent. During a routine check up, we discovered the heart just quit beating. I had to have her taken out...'twasn't fun. But I knew God had His own reasons and I rested upon that. Perhaps it was the grandchild my grandma Ginny gets to hold since she passed when I was 10. Anyway, when my grandma Millie was over on the other side, she told me she found herself walking along a path. there were hills, grassy and full of trees and flowers...colors undescribable. Up ahead, running towards her, came a little girl, about 3 years old. The closer she came, the better my grandma was able to see her features. "She had hazel eyes", she said, "and long straight light brown hair, just like you, my Debi". But as the child got closer, she slowed until she came to a stop. She waved to my Grandma just before her eyes opened and she found herself in the hospital. She had died and apparently it wasn't her time to leave us. We had a wonderful evening the weekend before her passing and I asked her to hug that little girl for me and tell her that I'm sorry that she isn't here with me. But that her mom, dad and three brothers will see her one day (we had another little boy and he was due the same month we had lost her in the following year). It wasn't so much a surprise that my Grandma went there, but that she was allowed to see that child and to return to tell me. I know in my heart of hearts that that little girl was the baby we had lost. And I know she was running to her great grandmother for a reason. Oh how I look forward to seeing the Father! Well, I just wanted to share that with you and your readers. Thank you again for mailing me back that first time. It meant very much to me. I often ask God to hug both of my grandmothers for me as now that they are both with Him, he lets them know that they are never far from my mind and always in my heart. Dear Betty, I just wanted you to know that I read your book, "Embraced By the Light" several years ago and I recently reread it right after the death of my precious father. It has brought me so much comfort and peace. I felt after reading your book that I know where my father is and what he is doing and learning. I also know beyond a shadow of a doubt that families are meant to be eternal and that I will be with my precious father again one day and our entire family will be together for eternity. Thanks so much for writing about your experience in the spirit world, it has brought comfort to me and to countless others. I too no longer fear death after reading your book, I know that it will be a glorious reunion with my loved ones who have gone on before.

I have read your book Embraced and Ripples. I am finding them very interesting bu some things have been questioning. In your book you mention nothing about seeing censored and that you feel that God could never send anyone there. However, God does not send anyone there. We send ourselves. Have you ever heard about a small village in the former Yugosliva called Medjugorie. Since 1981 5 children have been having appriations of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her story on the after life is completely different than yours. She has showed some of the children censored in which the describe a terrible place where people were suffering and in great pain. It was so horrifying to one of the children that she had to look away. Our lady explained to them that this was a place where evil people who didn't convert end up. These children are now adults and some of them are still having appariations of our Lady. Perhaps you would be interesting in reading some of the books that are out on Medjugorie. Just go to any Catholic book store and ask them to show you some of these books. I am sure you will find them very interesting. A great shrine has been built in the village of Medjugorie in our Ladys honour and people from all over the world have flocked there. Many people have been cured. I just find it hard to believe what you say about the after life after reading what the Mother of God has related to these children. God Bless Lorraine

Dear Betty, You are a lovely and beautiful person inside and out...I hear your hearts cry that God has placed within you....this same cry, of LOVING and giving out of ourselves this GREAT GIFT of Love to express and give to others has become such an overwhelming desire in my soul to express and give to others that are and do come into my pathway of life.... One can always tell when the Holy Spirit is within a message of a note or letter as it is always filled with a divine presence of beauty and splendor of words and thoughts of expression that only God can and does provide with His infinite wisdom and expression of himself....... I just want to share these thoughts of expression that are being placed within my soul..... I had a dream recently where I found an ANGEL TREE and it was branches of fir, cedar, extending from a round circle of roots that needed no dirt, soil, to grow and they were evergreen and it was called an ANGEL TREE and I wanted to buy and did for only $10.00 in the dream....I thought how wonderful God is even to speak to us in dreams....I am sure this will be used somewhere in my life for a reason that only Christ knows and for me to wait and see....so many time the Lord has spoken to me either in dreams or other ways too many to even try to explain......A person told me the other day, to whom I knew not really personally, but through email that I was an Angel sent here by God to do the Good that was intended..... I am personally being called with desire for the Love of the Seas lately so strongly....sailing the seas is such a big desire that is being birthed in me and maybe to evangelize the islands or such....I have no Sail boat or such but God can and does provide if it is intended for me to do any type of service to Him in this direction... I have a daughter that had a near death experienced death at the age of 2 1/2 years old....God spared her life as I gave Him her knowing that she was his child and a knowing that I wanted her with me but a surrender to my father that I knew it was up to HIM that it was out of my hands...I had total surrender to the Lord and when I did this, I felt a presences so serene that all would be alright...and it was...in my prayer while you was in this trauma state of being run over by car and went to visit Jesus...she did not tell me of the experience of being with Jesus until she was around 16 years old...why so long I don't know....but she loves the Lord and did see Jesus and sat at His feet and remembered not her family while there and He told her to return home and she did not want to return but he told her it was not time yet.....now many years past and she is 31 now has children and just last year lost her 5 year old boy to a school bus accident where the driver did not see him and run over him....that resulted in him being transfigured.....it was tragic in some senses to feel and see the loss and pain of my daughters heart but her relationship with the Lord has pulled her through and her experience gave her the encourgement to go on and know that He was with Jesus....she later had some problems with the Lord in a way but has worked through this knowing who she is in Christ and our encourgement to help her keep focused on Jesus.......I am thankful for all trials and temptations as they make us grow and have a better and closer relatinship with the Lord.......I have a Beautiful Daughter that has a great big wonderful Heart.....she is very Precious to me and the Lord....I am thankful....grateful for all my blessings of knowing who I am in our Lord Jesus Christ..... For what ever this is worth....I know you have so many stories to hear, read, but know in my heart when our words are annointed by the Holy Spirit you will know and listen...as they will minister what ever the Lord wants us to hear..... Dear Betty, Your book Embraced By The Light, just happened to fall into my hands at a moment I needed to feel inspired and hopeful, and to truly know that God loves me. I've been very ill for a couple of years with depression and post-tramatic stress disorder. My faith was once strong, but found it very difficult to find it again. A stranger gave my mom the book, she read it, and gave it to kme to read. It has been the first book I've been able to read from front to end, in fact I could not put it down. Something came over me, like a blanket of Gods love, I suddenly saw life and everyone in it, in a different light, like my eyes had been opened, more so than ever before. I am feeling very well, especially spiritually. - Just the other day, I went to visit this lady who is very ill with bipolar, and I asked her if she has read this book...she said it sounded familiar...we went to her basement with books all over, and found a copy easily. She doesn't rememeber the book, but remembered the title. I trust that God will truly speak to her heart through your experience, as she reads your story. As it did to me. Several years ago I had read your book Embraced; since before, durring, and to this present day many things have happened as they do in this life. I have gone from one end of the country to the other always thinking that perhaps I would stay in one place but for one "reason" or another this hasn't happened (even now in the back of my mind I really have wondered how long I will be where I'm at presently). One thing that has always happened in the moves and travels is that people and certain ones come across to me and I find there's is a co-operation (whether we're aware of it or not) of help and being helped. Sometimes we seem to recognize one another and other times it's such a surprize! Such is the case with a very dear and special person I was lead to through a job I did'nt even want to do! But I did, it's where I felt I needed to be. At any rate I truly did'nt realize that this person would be at the place I went to work at and that things would be revealed to us both that we're sisters under the skin. I guess that was revealed to us both one night when she was telling me about her son who had been in a terrible car accident and passed, now the funny thing was that durring the past couple of prior weeks I kept feeling (and feeling isn't adequate) that something I couldn't quite focus on was all around her, actually someone's. The night she told me about her son's fatal car crash,I knew that her son was around and was not alone, his grandpa was also there, this was neat because this person is divoced, kids grown and has had some very tough times so this is a comfort for her. One day I had gone to the library to check out some books, I kinda let them call to me (that's the way my mom says) and I literally picked off the shelf your book "Embraced by the light", I knew my special friend needed this book to back up what she already knew and to help her with her inside needs. I checked out my books and went straight to her house. I knocked, and when she opened the door I said hey, just stopped by and knew you needed this book. She read the book and I know she needed that, sometimes a person doesn't have to say a word but in your heart you know that they could use that special something, a card, a hello, and that day was your book! Well I sure didn't mean to be this long, but at any rate I thank God first and you second for the book and the encourgment and peace that it contains, that would seem to me a wonderfull mission in itself! thanx tsAngel

I feel myself blessed for having found these books that teach me such beautiful and enlightening messages about a loving God who cares for us, and who I can speak to whenever I want. Dear Betty, Before your book was published, I had read a photocopied manuscript of it, as it had said that it had circulated around the world. A few months later, the actual book was published. I still remember laying in bed, reading the book, and crying so much, as the words "struck a cord" within me. A year or so later, I had the opportunity to see you speak in Los Angeles... I still remember it to this day. As the years have passed, I have read many more books, including "Conversations with God" by Neale Walsh. These books also help me to feel a bit closer to God and to better-understand my (our) purpose for being here. It is frustrating, though, because the God that I read about from your experience (and others too), seems so loving and forgiving and accepting of us totally; yet, I am beginning to question whether or not I should remain in my church (or not). I am gay. I don't really want to be, but after 36 years, no-one seems to have an answer. My church leaders are clueless about it. I've been through church-sponsored therapy (didn't work), and now I realize that as much as I love the people at church (and I really do), I feel that I don't belong. Families are everything, marriage is an essential part of my religion (it is doctrine) and, in my ward (congregation), virtually everybody is married and has children. They seem happy. They have a spouse to come home to... to love... and children to enjoy. I love being in this family atmosphere, but I feel like an outsider, looking in. Maybe this is lack of faith, but I have been struggling with this since I was 13... and in my twenty's, I tried as best as I could to overcome. I am beginning to feel that perhaps the "message", if there is one, is that it is time for me to "go on", to let go of what I have been taught. Yet, it is hard to let go, as the "gay world" can be a hard, cold place. I have dabbled in it before. Looks and body are "all". I am fat, balding, with hair in the "wrong places", so my phone was not exactly "ringing off the hook". Ironically, I accept this. Somehow, I sense that I chose to have these difficulties in order to grow and develop. Yet, I am tired of the struggle. And, frankly, I really don't want to be "obedient" and follow all the laws and ordinances of the Gospel (I don't know that I really believe all of them). I would simply like to hear YOUR opinion on this, as I trust you.

Thank you for writing such a wonderful book Embraced by the light. I wasn't sure I believed everything you said,but I do now. I let my youngest son read it,who is 13. He read your book and thought it was good also. One thing he did say which surprised me .Mom I already new all that and believes in whole heartly. I have read through your book and was fascinated with thw OOBE that you had. There are references in the Book of MOrmon in two places where I can remember where Nephi was caught up in a high mountain and when the Three Nephites were transfigured and translated and they knew not whether they were in their body or not, and Joseph Smith has made reference that when he was caught up with heavely visions that he knew not whether he was in the body or not at times. Dearest Betty, I have read two of your books (Embraced and The Awakening Heart), and they have touched me deeply. My father passed on when I was 2 years old, and my mother stopped going to church shortly after. I was rarely given the opportunity to learn of God's love, but I have always felt his presence. I have had many miraculous experiences in my life, but none compared to the brilliant light I used to see when I closed my eyes to pray. The first time it happened, I thought there must be something wrong with me. It continued, however, and I realized that it was my proof that God was with me. I am sorry to say that, some time ago, this light stopped coming to me (although I have occasionally caught a glimpse of it). I pray every day that I may receive this blessing again, as I have been fighting with depression most of my life, and this was the only thing that comforted me. Hello Betty, I have just read one of your books and it was wonderful. I cried a lot for the happiness it gave me. You and I have the same views on spirituality. Have you been researching your Native background more? You should. It is a wonderful way of life what I have learned. Some how Christianity and Native American Spirituality should flow together but the question is how? There should be some connection. I have been recently talking to God and asking him for guidence in my quest for spirituality. I have been getting some neat responces. One of them happens to be your book I picked up at the library. It was standing upright on a shelf when I saw it. The picture made me curious because of your dress. I study Lakota ways and I thought the book was on Native American Spirituality. I picked it up and glanced over it and then put the book back. It did not seem like a book I would read. Then when I decided to check out another book I said what the heck so I got both books and I am glad I did. I read your book with in a 24 hour period. I had a hard time puting the book down. Betty, I can not tell you enough how your book has changed my life and gave me comfort. I am 21 years old and have faced alot in my short years. I am a single mother and it gets pretty chalenging at times. I have always feared death until now. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with the world. I do have a question for you, I am a christian now and was saved a year ago. As I have developed a relationship with christ and learned more about him I wonder wheather people who do not believe in him go to censored. It says in the bible those who do not believe will perish. I have trouble with this. My mother and father are divorced but definetley do not have christ in there hearts, there is no faith in anything and that scares me for them in eternity.I do pray for them but then I think about the world and how it is these days and how there are so many of us lost. I have passed embraced on to many friends and it has changed them as well. You are such a miracle and I pray for you to keep on effecting the world as you have me. Dear Betty, In 1993 I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Had to have a bilateral mastectomy. While undergoing chemo, my friend let me read her copy of "Embraced..." It was such a comfort and help to me. As soon as I was well enough, I purchased my own copy. I have read it several times and highlighted the parts that were important to me. I have, since then, purchased about 30 copies of your book and given them to others whom I felt would benefit from it. Many of those people have bought copies to give to THEIR friends. It has really pyramided!! One friend in particular told me what a miracle that reading your book caused in his life. His wife was in a coma. He never gave up hope that she would recover. He would hold her hand and read from your book. When you wrote about the guides, she squeezed his hand. He asked her if she had that same experience. She squeezed his hand again. Soon after that she came out of the coma. However, because of a trachea and damage to her vocal chords, she has been unable to speak. To shorten a long story, she is now able to walk with help. My friend told me that it was all due to my presenting him with the book. Your book has helped SO MANY people. I have recently ordered 4 more copies from my local bookstore to present to some friends who have recently lost a loved one. I am hoping they receive as much comfort as I have. Thank you for writing of your experiences. I also own "The Awakening Heart" and have read a library copy of "The Ripple Effect" I am hoping that "Ripple" will soon be available in paperback form. After we drove away, as I looked at the rose (it even was covered in dew!), it just hit me that she was an Angel... This would be my third time emailing you. I don't have much time to type because the bus will come soon. We went to subway today. You see, I attend group called "Humand Resous Center" because I have problem with thinking appriatly. I'd believe in the bibble, New Testiment and many positive books you wrote. I believe that no matter what church you go to, every church help people in different way to get to heavenly father therefore we have no right to critize other church or religins. I have to go now.

Betty, you taught me how to pray to angels, which has been a wonderful connection for four years. Books are so wonderful, and touch so many people. I am glad you shared your story because it touched me so. The book helped me get through a year of depression, which I refused to take any medicine. I only wanted help through God. The book you wrote brought me to tears. I have been afraid of death for a very long time but I'm not anymore.. Your book is very comforting in time of trials. My family was having a hard time coping with my sister passed on, I've read "Embraced by the light" I am happy that your are spreading a good messages of Heavenly Father.
