This Christmas season started out to not be a good one for me, I have been looking for a job most of 1999, did a little temp. work to survive, & I allowed my 3 kids to spend most of the holidaze with their Dad, my ex, who could give them more stuff. I started reading your 1st book on the advice of a friend & then the 2nd & 3rd I am on now, bought myself after Christmas. It seems to be "undoing" a lot of damage done to me in spiritual abuse & trying to find a church home during my divorce & the 9 years since. Dear Betty, I've had your first book in 1996 and I bought the second one in 1999, I enjoyed all your books and it enlightened me on certain things. Thanks for the joy and love you've been spreading. I also let my friends read your book and they were all delighted. I have psoriasis and it really puts me down, but then I know God has a plan for me. I hope I am strong enough to follow what He wants for me to do. I wish I could tell you more. I've been planning to write to you for a long time. I already composed a letter for you but I did get the chance to mail to you.... There's just one question I'd like to ask? Is there a censored? I'm a Roman Catholic and we were told that if we don't follow God's commandments or if we are bad, we will go to censored. I'm curious, I hope I could read it in your book someday... ANYWAYS, I LIKE SO MANY HAVE SAID BEFORE READ FROM COVER TO COVER IN A MATTER OR HOURS. I CRIED, BECAUSE AT THIS TIME I BELIEVE THAT I WAS MENT TO READ YOUR BOOK. MY MOM HAD PASSED AWAY IN '91 I LIKE SO MANY OTHERS FELT THE LOSS WAS UNBEARABLE. I AM PLEASED TO SAY THAT I DID BENEFIT FORM THE WONDERFUL INFO. YOU WERE GIVEN AND THAN SHARED WITH EVERY ONE. Betty, I have alot of things in my life right now that I'm dealeing with. Your books have brought everyting that I new as a child to life! After reading your books I felt less afraid of death and a little closer to God.. You have made me feel like I am here on this earth to learn. This is the way I feel, after all the trials and tribulations that I have been through. Both my husband and I are going through a rough time. We just found out he has Cancer. This has lead me to drinking and doing drugs. I'm so ashamed of myself. It seems thaat it is the only thing keeping me sane! I never was like this. But I don't wish something like this on anyone! Between loosing my Best friend and the possibility of loosing my husband, my soul can't take anymore. I've taken up drinking and using drugs to help me cope with this. Do you have any advice? Betty...I read Embraced by the Light acople of years ago and could not get what you said out of my mind. The 3 months ago I bought your second book and was just as impressed as I was with Embaced. I have been in turmoul for many years and for the first time in years I feel as I did when I was 15 yrs old. I am just full of love for our heavenly father. For this I thank you. Betty, I feel as if I know you. Embraced landed in my hands per accident and it really changed my life. Awakening heart was automatically next and I read both at least ten times. Now I have read The Ripple Effect and can truly say that I have never read a book more meaningful in my life. You have answered so many of the questions that I had. You may not realise it but you have touched many lives in South Africa. I have gone back and started studying the Bible again and suddenly so many things are clearer to me now as if God just opens it up to me. Hello Betty, It's funny, but after reading your books, Embraced and Awakening, I feel like an old friend. I have not had a near-death experience, but I have gained so much from reading your books. I have been on a spiritual journey myself, trying to get in touch with who I am and how I need to live my life to enjoy the grace of God around us at all times and to work through the challenges this life offers us. Betty, your books have given me new hope in my life. I was at point in my life where I had given up on the church. After reading your words I realized that God is the one that I must turn to, always God. I have an inner peace now of knowing what life is about and "WHY" we are here. It is nearly a year since I left my last message on your guesstbook Betty. My friend Sally died a year ago on the 23rd of Dec, she was only 18yrs old, she died from hypothermia when she got lost walking home. A copy of Embraced by the Light just sort of found its way to me as I bet happends to a lot of people, it made so many things clear to me, I had never been so moved by anything I had read in my life and don't think I ever will be again. Your books have shown me what Heavenly Father's Love is truly like. I grew up in a "Christian" home but there was not much love, just cruelty. When I grew up, I fell away from God because "if that was what love was, I didn't want it." Betty, First I'd like to say thanks for having the courage to go forth and write your book "Embraced By The Light." I first saw it at the library and later bought a few copies for myself, family & friends. Your book really opened my eyes and showed me what life is all about. Society today makes death such a bad thing and when loved ones die, family members sometimes take it too hard. My Grandmother on my mom's side passed away in 1981. To this day, my mom still cries her eyes out. I gave my mom a copy of your book 3 years ago before she moved to England in hope that she would read it and find peace. Up until now, I can't say if she's read it or not. But I pray for her daily. I am also in the USAF and have a semi-dangerous job. Next year my job will be far more dangerous and because of your experience, I no longer fear death. I think people get too wrapped up in all of the things that happen here on earth. I think that we were put here for a reason and we all have our destinys to fullfil. The sooner you put your life in God's hands, the sooner you will have doors opening for you. Not everyone will have the opportunity to visit Heaven during their lifetime such as you did and must therefore go on faith alone. But when you pray to God and have the insight to recognize and feel him working in your life, then faith becomes easy. Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience with me. Hi Betty! Happy THanksgiving to you and your family. Thank you so much for "The Ripple Effect". I got so excited after reading it that the next day I could barely sit still. I just wanted to run up to everyone and say "You must read this book ..it will change your life!" What I did do is recommend it to people, again and again and again. Now there is a whole group of us reading it, going to lunch talking about it, discussing it at meetings and talking on the phome. We are all so excited it is the "buzz" around the office and it feels so great to have people who were agnostic, or atheist say things like "Wow this is the God I always believed in but was told never existed. I realize now that I have missed so many chances to really show love because of fear. Isnt that silly? I mean a student of mine died last week and though I was saddened and crushed by the news I felt that calling the family or bringing food would be an imposition on them....am I a nut or what? Where oes this awful fear of rejection come from? I think it i show the dark forces keep us from spreading love an djoy. They put fear in our hearts that we will do something inappropriate or silly or that we will make a fool of ourselves... well not anymore...to quote the "Indigo Girls" "I will not be a pawn for the Prince of Darkenss any longer". Well anyway I love you Betty and I am so proud that you had the strength and courage to write those books and tour (I know it is incredibly exhasuting and lonely) Keep going Betty. "Embraced by the Light" has been a great source of comfort to many of my clients as I am a bereavement counsellor. It has helped break through the barriers of Protestant/Catholic in our country and look at the more intimate relationship between God and ourselves.

Your books have been pure "music to my soul". I have just finished your 3rd book, The Ripple Effect, and didn't want it to end. I read Embraced by the Light given to me by my daughter. I loved it and it answered so many questions that I felt as a child growing up about God and his love. It reconfirmed to me that unconditional love is the ultimate. I do not feel I have always had unconditional love in situations and I hope to achieve more of it. I do forgive very easily and I hope that's a good thing even though many of critical of me for that. Keep up your good journey of love to all and your sharing with all of us.

Dear Betty, I thank God just about every day for sending you and your message to all of mankind. I, too, died once. I was a little girl and had pneumonia. I remember floating near the ceiling and looking down at my body in the bed. I wasn't afraid because I sensed a loving spirit by my side. Now, after hearing your story, I am convinced that every word you say is true. But mostly, I want to thank you for teaching me how to pray. Last weekend, I was walking down a busy street in Treasure Island, Florida and witnessed the immediate aftermath of a horrible accident between an automobile and a motorcycle. The man who had been driving the motorcycle was laying in the road unconcious with blood coming out of his nose. His female partner was bruised and hysterical, leaning over him. I started praying "God, please send your angels to help this man right now!" I did that a few times, then I shifted my attention and started thinking "Get beck into your body, she needs you." I did that a couple of times, then a fireman walked over, lifted the man's head and he opened his eyes. I was stunned. The man drifted away again, then the fireman lifted his head again and he held his eyes open. Goose bumps raced over my body, and they still do every time I think about it. Could my prayers have been that powerful? Had it not been for your books, Embraced by the Light and especially The Awakening Heart, I never would have thought to pray like that. There were only about 5-10 people standing and watching like I was, what was the likelihood that anyone would think to do that? I walked away feeling sad about the tragedy that just hit 3 persons lives and left wondering "Could my prayers have been that powerful?" Dear Betty, I have searched for the right words to tell you how your books have changed my life. How, through typed text, Can I convey the happness and joy you have brought to my life? Words seem inadequate. I have to tell you I have given more people your books than you could possibly imagine. To think I am apart of the Ripple Effect makes me happy that I chose this time to live on earth and to be a part of movement of goodness and light. As a singer I use my voice to entertain people but I never imagined that this was a perfect way to spread light to the world. Dear Betty, My sister gave the Book " Embraced by the Light" to read. I could not stop reading it, and I talked to my husband and told him he has to read the it too. We lost a loved one his Uncle to Heart disease and that really hit the family hard. His uncle left behind a wife and two children that are still in school. It was hard for everyone to deal with it considering that he was True Saint! He would help anyone without ever thinking about it twice. He was very devoted to his family and to the Cathoic church. I thought to myself that why did God have to take someone so good and not someone that was bad on earth. I was brought up as a Catholic and believe in God, but this really mad me angry and confused. I read your book and it made me change my way of thinking and I wanted to share the book with my husbands Aunt who lost the husband. I told her this really is must read book that will enlighten her and give her a little understanding. This death in the family was reminder that Life is short here on earth and that we should love one another more than we have before. We should teach our children to love and be kind to everyone. I am proud to say that my children are very aware of God and that when it is our time to go that we are welcomed into God's kingdom which is Heaven. I just had conferences for my daughter and being that Thanksgiving is just around the corner the teacher had them make a colorful picture of fruit and vegetables and they had to write what they were Thankful for, and my daughter's stood out not because she was mine but because what she was Thankful for . She wrote " I am Thankful for God." Then each fruit and vegetable had a name on it and she listed Mom, Dad , brother and Jesus. I could have cried with such happiness. Being a parent is never an easy job and we all want our children to do well. This to me was a sign that I am doing okay. I love both of my children very much and would do anything to keep them safe,and I used to fear for them as what if's . Well after reading your book I know when our mission is done on earth that we all will be in a better place. Thank you for your inspiration and sharing something that is so precious.

In October of 94 we had learned that our daughter Courtney was dying of a brain tumor (Glioblastoma Multiforme) They had prepared us in the afternoon that they did not expect her to make it thru the night and that we should expect the worst. That evening my husband, son, and I had spent the night at the hospital and I stayed with her so she would not have to die without someone by her side. As I stayed with her, I read your book Embraced by the Light to her so that she might know what to expect. I really feel that it was a great help to the both of us. She did come thru that night and stayed with us for another 8 months, but never once did she seem afraid to go. As much as we all miss her, we all do know that she is in a beautiful place and we will be with her again someday. Thank you for writing about your experiences.

I've just read your book. I am 19 years old. I have a very good faith in God. I am a devout Catholic. I read your book in one night, last night. I could'nt put it down. I decided to search you up on the net. I have a lot of what you have without the miracles that have happened to you, without the miracles that have happened to you, if you know what I mean. I went to Medjugorje this year in August. The "feeling" that I received was that we should all accept where we are in this life. In other words if we are poor/unaccepted etc. then that is what is meant for us and we should be glad that we have been given the chance to be this way. Likewise if we are rich and unhappy/happy then we should always give thanks for this as it is God's will in our lives. One of the things you emphasise is that to experience joy then we have to experience sorrow. When I was a kid I was bullyed in school. I received counselling and definitely made a good recovery. I am an outgoing person that receives and gives love openly and with God's will. I receive joy from this although I never "openly" drew the connection. I did believe (afterwards) that God was teaching me something and I know that experiences as a child laid the foundations for the person I am today. Your book led my thoughts to understand why all these things happened to me. All I ask are your prayers that I may forgive the perpitrators of my bullying. Yours Sincerely, John Coughlan. P.s. dear betty jean. i have read the two previous books you wrote and i was thinking the other day about you and wondered when you were going to write a third, when lo and behold i go into the bookstore today and there it is!!! you are really precious to my heart and have explained some deep truths of God to me...i also am indian on my fathers side, my grandmother was born on the chocktaw reservation in oklahoma...i feel a real connection with the native americans...actually colombus didn't discover america the native americans were already here hundreds of years before the white man came over...i never really liked school and history was my least favorite, but now i am 52 the awakening in me has come and i can't get enough information...i cried when i read about the navahoe's and the apache's...my father said they were treated worse than the african american, i'm not minimizing their pain because God knows they endured horrible treatment...ijust don't understand how one human can treat another in a superior way when were all created equal, if i need blood it doesn't matter whose blood it is, or race....i will never understand mankind, but i do know this i love everyone, i may not think the way they do... but life is a puzzle sometimes and the older i get the more God is allowing me to see life in a different way...i love you betty j. eadie you were the one that helped life to start on folding for me or should i say, you are God's instrument...!

Betty, after reading "The Awakening Heart" I was moved. When you started describing your own awakening it sent chills up and down my spine. Even though there is no Native American blood running in my veins (as far as I know) I have been asked if I am French-Indian (the French ancestry is right)on numerous occasions. Ever since I was a small child I have been obsessed with Native American culture. I constantly sketched portraits of Native Americans and their culture(I am an artist)and used to pretend to make clay pots and cook their food. As an adult I can't read or see movies about the atrocities the Native Americans experienced without experiencing an overwhelming depression (which takes days to get over)and extreme sadness (great streams of tears) as if I have experienced it myself. I am constantly wanting to learn how to weave and make pottery; find myself wanting to wear some of the dress; find myself wanting to eat what they eat. I truly believed there was a connection but couldn't seem to explain it. The book has put it all together for me and helped tie God in with it(I don't feel I'm crazy). Thank You.

Dear Betty, I have almost finished reading the third of your three books, "The Ripple Effect" having already read the other two. Your books are a great value to this world and I hope that more people will just open their hearts to God and the truth so that they can see for themselves how much God truly loves them and cares about them, each and every second of their lives. I am constantly amazed at the fact that God can use the commonest of man to let us know him in a very real and sacred way. Each of us; every single one. I am so glad that you decided to return to us here in this life, so that we could see the wonderful reality of him and his ways. I thank God for all he is doing through you, Betty.
