Hi, Betty. I understand that you are unable to answer our emails there are just too many. I however, need to relate this too you. I did not have an NDE. I did however have an OBE. I do not understand what it meant. This was my first extraordinary experience. I have had Psychic experiences but this was the only OBE I ever had and it was a catalist to search for spiritual meaning in this life. One day while I was in my late teens I was resting and in that twighlight time between wakefullness and sleep. I suddenly felt myself and saw myself(as if I was a third party to all this) fly out of my body at an incredible speed. I felt like I was leaving the heavy weight of my physical body. As if I was unchained and travelling at a rapid , instantaneous speed. I had the impression that it was my consiousness viewing this experience and watching myself on this journey. I looked down from somewhere in space and saw the earth. The most profound feeling was the sense of absoulte peace and love that I was experiencing. I did not want to let go of that feeling. It cannot be described. It was as if I was going to my real home and I did not want to return to that heavy body and my burdensome life on earth. It was just pure releif that I was leaving this earthly plane. I suddenly viewed myself in a garden. There was an absence of color. Everything was in shades of gray, similar to black and white tv. my consciousness watched myself standing in this garden. There was an open area surrounded by trees. I saw two birds fly into one of the trees. I then saw this being float towars me. It did not walk. It floated to me. This entity was dressed in a robe that a monk would wear and the hood drapped over its head. There was however no face. There was just the essence of a wonderfully loving and compassionate spiritual being. This entity was so full of love that I cannot express it. It telepathically said to me "at last you are here". I remember the feeling that this being and I knew each other forever. I then suddenly and with a startle and chills running through my spine woke up. This was no dream. I know the difference between a dream and real experience. This was real. I have never forgotten it. The one thing that impressed me the most was the profound essense of love I felt as well as the remeberance of that spiritual place being my real home. I recall how much I disliked being back here and so far away from my spiritual home. That experience is locked in my heart as the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me. When I read your book Embraced BY The Light, the experiences you had reminded me of my own. This experience began my quest for spiritual knowledge. I never understood what the full meaning of what the being said "at last you are here" was conveying. I often thought that mabey I was being told that at last I was at a point in my spiritual growth where I could accept and pursue my spirituality. When you described your spirit guides in your book they appeared similar to the being I encountered. I know I can never forget or discount that experience and the effect it had on my quest to understand my spiritual nature. It was real and beautiful. It began my spiritual awakening and my thirst for spiritual knowledge continues.Betty, If you can give me any further insight as to what this experience was all about I would be honored to hear from you. This was the best book I have ever read ! I too had an experience when I was about 13 and that was nearly 27 years ago and I remember it like yesterday ! I floated out of my body and met my deceased grandmother, who told me 'it wasn't my time yet and I must go back as there are things that I must complete' although there was more, this is not the place to air my experiences but to comment on how wonderful Betty's book is. I recognised a lot in there and if you haven't read it, please do as you are missing something special, that no one can ignore. I read it from cover to cover and could not put it down, your life will change but only for the better. read and believe it !

Dear Betty, Me and My husband are reading your book The Ripple Effect. I was woundering if you every had you spirt leave your body? My step mother killed herself in April I think 2 months later I was laying in my bed heavy with child and all of a sudden I could not move. I was looking at my bed room window then a person that looked like light came to me see was my step mom. She took my soul to my fathers house and should me my father and brother eatting lunch at the table. They where talking about her. He was asking me why they wherer not talking to her, I didn't know what to tell her. She would ask me why they are mad at her and what did she do to make them mad. ( She was hearing voices that other people could not hear ) She told me that the people didn't stop talking to her and that she was not nuts. I didn't know what to say. What felt like hours was only mins. A few days later I went to my fathers house and told him and my mother what had happen. I asked then if I was nuts. Then with there mouths on the floor my father then said to me " A few days ago your brother and I had lunch and where talking about her right here at the table" She told me to tell them that she was sorry. She was scared. It only happen once. I also Have dreams and they come true. My family beleaves I am a Angle that walks the earth. Did you ever hear of this befor? Love, Neha

Im a 28 year old mother of six children and I have been through so much this year infidelity,divorce,homeless,death in family,betrayel. I prayed all the time for the lord to help me through it all and he came through for me, all i did was kept my faith and be patient. I think it was a blessing when one day i went to a salvation army and found your book embraced by the light in a pile of odds and ends. My only sister died suddenly in May. She was 35 years old. She was a wonderful Christian woman, and the Lord sustained my family and brought peace to us through this time. I checked your book out at our library a few weeks after her death, and more peace enveloped me. Your message really makes a lot of sense and spoke to my heart. I loved your book Embraced By The Light. It gave me inspiration to believe God is Love and not a God of Fear. I had always believed this and always believed in Angels. I believe he sends his Angels to us to watch over us and protect us. I know from experience that this is the case. I haven't had a near death experience but I am not afraid to die as I know God and Jesus will see me through. God Bless you Betty for sharing your experiences and messages in your books.

I have both Embraced by the Light and The Awakening Heart, I bought them both when each first came out. They answered so many of my questions although I kind of believed a lot of what you said even before I read about it. I have always felt that I had a very close connection with God and for some reason knew about things that I found in the bible, before I ever even read the bible. I wish everyone could believe your story but so many feel it is a joke. A lot of people said it is your religion that you were trying to convince people to turn too, I disagree. If people stopped to really think about your story, it really is common sense - to me anyway. I have been feeling really down and out lately therefore, I picked up my bible that I have been neglecting and also decided to re-read one of your books (The Awakening Heart), it puts me back on track and helps me forget about things that are depressing me. I thank you for your inspiring story and believe me, if you only knew how much I want to go home.... I know I have an assigment though, so I guess I'll just have to stick around - for awhile anyway. Dear Betty: I feel a great sadness (and yes, some anger) in my heart towards the Christian faith, and I am hoping someone could please respond to my feelings. I grew up in a very spiritual family. We were all taught from early childhood on, that the earth is not our 'natural' home; that this is 'college' and we are here to learn and grow in God's love. We were taught that life on earth is hard, but we all chose to come here to develop spiritually. We grew up remembering each day to thank our father in heaven for our blessings, and for strength to endure in trials. We were taught that giving generous service is important, and to follow our hearts and dreams in God's love. We were taught to always work hards towards being the best, kindness we could be--and to always be tolerant and accepting. We also learned that we sometimes fall flat on our faces, but have the ability to forgive ourselves, forgive others, dust ourselves off, and continue on our way. My children (and my siblings' children)are all growing up with the same deep, loving spiritual beliefs. My brother's family embraced judaism, my sister christianity, my family the b'hai faith. In our faith we believe that there is no right religion; that each faith is a way towards God, and just as you write in your book, none of us has the right to criticise another's beliefs. Imagine the joy we all felt when we read your book and found between the pages the same things we had been taught all our lives! What joy! Unfortunately, my children have both encountered (as have I) what I call 'negative christianity.' Throughout our lives we have encountered christians who tell us that we are 'doomed to censored' or will be 'banned from heaven' if we do not adopt the Christian faith and embrace Jesus as our Lord and savior. My daughter came home from school in tears one day because a classmate told her "if you don't go to church and accept Jesus as your Lord and savior, you will go to censored." I remember not long after my father died, telling a Baptist friend about him--what a loving, caring man he had been, and how, although he was a scientist, his life was dedicated to God. My father did not accept christianity and believed that Christ was a great prophet. My friend stared at me in disbelief and said, "oh child, I'll pray hard for your father's soul, for he is in grave peril!" I was floored! How could this woman dare to tell me that my father would be 'condemned to censored' (her words) because he did not believe as she did? What right do Christians have to tell others that we will be banned from heaven because we choose a different path to God? Where in the Bible does it truly say that you have to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior or you will not be able to return home to heaven? Why do Christians believe that the road we as B'hai's, as Jews, as Native Americans, as Buddhists, have chosen, is a road to eternal damnation? "Only through me can you enter heaven" sounds more as what you described in your NDE: A reunification with Christ, not as a moment of condemnation or rejection. Please, someone explain this belief to me. I feel it is hurtful, hateful and misguided. As one young friend once said to me, "this belief that if you're not christian will condemn you for all eternity" has completely turned me off to Christ." I have no doubt that Christ exists as you describe him in your book, but Betty, I can not believe that Christ would ever deny anyone their heavenly home because they chose a different path towards God. Enlighten me, please? -- praying for greater tolerance and love

I lost my position as a Regional Sales Manager. I am very close to losing my home, vehicle and perhaps my family. I have begun a spiritual journey, perhaps prompted by my distress; but always in the back of my mind. I have led a, on the surface, successful life, but not a strong foundation. She stated that this book was a testament to the LDS Church being true, because she was sure that if you were a Church member, you would have been honest enough to say so in your book. After reading the book, I was very suspicious, so I started checking you out on the Internet and have found that when you wrote this book, you were a Church member. I have been a Mormon for more than 20 years, and I must tell you that I find it very sad that you would use the Church's teachings so exactly in your supposed vision, and yet not bother to mention the Church or your membership in it. Hello, Betty, I've read your first book, Embraced By the Light, and enjoyed the narrative until the theology got shaky. As a Christian minister's wife, I question the concept of "spirit brothers and sisters" who live in Heaven waiting to be born... And "deciding" whether or not to be born. That is a basic tenet of the Mormons, whose doctrine runs amok from the traditional Christian tenets and creeds, much less the Word of God as revealed in the Old and New Testaments. Another concern is the nearly New Age tone of some of the material you have published. Sadly, multitudes of this era are ignorant of what Christianity teaches, which is really a very singular Gospel, and focuses not on what we become, but on God's unmerited good will and intervention in our lives: We are estranged from God by original sin, God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus (John 3:16), because He loved us and did not want us to perish. Mankind's fallen condition demanded justice. Jesus Christ, one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, gave Himself to be the one who stood in our place and took on Himself the sins and the punishment we deserve. He arose from the dead three days after He was subjected to a horrible death, the death reserved by the Romans for the worst of the criminals of the time... death by crucifixion. Thus, He redeemed humankind, and through Him we have access to the Father. All who come to God in Jesus' name, truly repenting of their sins and turning from them, accepting Jesus as the Christ, will be saved. In obedience, and with grateful heart, we strive to serve God by living holy lives. Through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (the third person of the Trinity), we are enabled more and more to live in harmony with God and to shed our sinful nature. Perhaps that is what you are saying, too. I would suggest that you back up your theology with Biblical references, and carefully examine the influence of today's cults and schisms. Even the dearest of people, with the most profound experiences, can unwittingly fall victim to these false doctrines. "Embraced by the light" was a book that my mother and I purchased together. My mother has sinced passed. Before her passing she gave this book to all she felt that needed to feel the power of "healing" that this book helps to give. (mothers who lost their children) And just about anyone who's life had been upset by a loss. Since the passing of mom, 5 yrs ago I too have needed the comforting that this book gives. Hello! I read the Swedish version of your book ´The opening hearth` for now and I love it! I also read your first book some years ago. I think your books are very important in this world there so many peoples have conflicts and ´dont have time`for love and caring of each other and so much fear. We are much more than materia! I don`t have ´near death´experiences in that way I was ill but sometimes especially in the teenages I suddenly get some kind of near-death-experiences for short times when I see a big light and big love and feeling like éverything is one`. I think we humans got some glipses of that dimensions more and more often also when we not are near do die. I heard many others had similar experiences too. Some peoples in the science says this experiences is because some natural drug in our brains, but I think it is unlogical in many ways. I wish you good luch with your important work!!!

It is was I have been living & believing....but I've recently lost my oldest son age 20 and best friend and business partner....I cannot help but grieve and miss him so much. Does grieving interfere with my being able to have an encounter with him...and in your book you refer to friends without names from way before earth...you did not mention any family members you saw...Do you believe I will see my son and he will recognize me as his mom? Dear Betty, It was in a way a miracle that your book came to me my daughter came across it in a pile of books going for fifty cents australian she gave it to me to check out, it was mant for me it has opened my eyes, I always new in my heart that there was mnore to living on this earth than just being who we are, I work in a nursing home and today someone passed away,the family beleived that his mother was there to lead him home to heaven he kept looking up around the room then he looked at his wife as to say good bye with in a few seconds he was gone, the faith in these two people amazed me as they knew he was going to a better place after a long time suffering his illness.You discription of how you come out of your body with energy and a pop your out. Came close to me today as I thought of this man heading home as free tofly away toheaven and to be with his holy father this is truely wonderfull, I also have just started reading Embraced by the light, I received the books back to front, I did pay ful price for the last one I cant wait to get to the end, I hope that I will be able to share lots of love and beauty as you have done, the loveI feel inside for our father in heaven is so warm no one knows until it happens to them what it feels. I truly enjoyed your book Embraced by the light. I feel exactly the way you do. I believe deeply that our lives on earth are all preset for us. I believe in guardian angels. I lost my parents when I was 19 years old. As hard as it was to understand the reasoning at the time, I truly believe that it was their time to go home. They taught me more in death, than I remember in life. I love and miss them everyday, but I feel their energy always. I know we will meet again... I read "Embraced By The Light" in 1998. It was wonderful. It gave me closure with my grandmother's death. I cried, I laughed and I felt a peace cover my entire soul as I read about your expierence. I am now searching for more of your wonderful work and I sure I'll find the next book just as heartfelt and touching as the first.

Hi Everyone! :-) I read Betty's book "The Ripple Effect about 1 1/2 years ago, and I must say that it opened my eyes to a whole new way of thinking! I was raised Catholic, but I became a Born again Christian about 13 years ago, and have always been very involved in womens bible studies, but for some reason, I just don't think I ever really "got it" until I read your book! It opened my eyes to a new way of seeing things! I have a whole new appreciation for Jesus, and a new way of relating to people in a whole new light! Literally! :-) I didn't realize the power that I had as just "one" person, but as you said in your book, "EVERYTHING" we do affects the lives of other people, either for Good, OR for Bad, and when you look at it like that, it makes me want to do everything I can to leave every person that I come into contact with, in a positive way. I want my life to "ripple out" in a way that blesses people and not curses people! Betty, you have encouraged and inspired me like no one else in my life has! Since that first encounter with your book (Ripple effect), I've now read all your other books and I've also just signed up to become a W.A.V.E. so that I can meet others like me, that have a whole lot of love to give to this world! There are so many things I want to say, first, I have an angel that has saved me quite a few times. The most recent has been when I was driving to a friends house. I heard a voice from the back seat scream, "STOP." As I screached to a stop, a truck flew through the stop sign. I actually turned to see if someone was in my back seat!

Dear Betty: I read your book, "Embraced by the light", a few years ago. Not too long ago I found the book again, and gave it to my mom. She said that she read the book, she felt a great calm come over her, she felt so good, and peaceful. She did not have to worry about anything anymore.

Betty, Three years ago I lost my Mother.She was a very strong woman and held a family of 6 sons and two daughters together.I cant explain what her death did to us.She was a very loving person,whom everyone loved.I didnt know how I was going to make it without her.Then a very close friend gave me your book.I cant tell you what it has ment to me.I have passed it through the family,so they too could feel the comfort that I had found.My favorite part is the garden.I know my mother will spend many happy hours there.Since Mothers death,I have bought several copies of your book for others who have lost someone dear to them.You just cant be unhappy for someone who has went to such a loving and beautiful place.Thank-you from the bottom of my heart for writing of your experiences.You have no idea how much or how many you have helped in a very bad time of thier life.

Hi again Betty, I have just finished ur book and once again am convinced of a caring and loving god! It is as I have always believed. That people do get to where they want to go. That everyone does get to go home. No matter if ur a Jew, Hindu, Muslim, Shikt, Christian. God is for everyone and loves everyone. Life was not some cosmic accident and there is something beyond the big black. I will work on myself now to be more loving and more forgiving of my family, freinds, and co-workers. There's also one more truth I decided upon a short while ago and ur words have re-iterated in me. There is no more time for hate. We may need to protect ourselves sometimes from those that might harm us in the world but in the end we get what we give. Man has a decision in his own fate. Once again Betty thank u for ur comforting words. My mind is much more quieter these last few days, and will once again settle down. But i will always try to hold a sense of wonder that I am alive in this great world and loved in God's light!

Iam a single mother of three , two boys 19, and 12 and one girl 9! My husband died of cancer, I have read all three of your books three times. I read them to my children and tell them to always spread the love and be of service to all, and learn our life lessons untill we are all home again with our Father and Jesus. Hey Betty, I just re-read Embraced by the Light. I needed to re-read the spiritual lessions and ideas from the "other side" that help me so much to put THIS LIFE into perspective. Knowing that this is not all there is helps to have courage here and deal with this life with dignity and of course LOVE. Love IS the answer ;). Remember not to judge and always to love. Sometimes I lose sight of that. I'm back on track again. Thanks Sweetie!

Dear Mrs. Eadie, I am having spiritual quandry right now. I am 24 and have believed what i wanted to believe for a long time. Recently I've read some Christian books, which have shaken my old belief system. My dad is a Christian and he said he wouldn't take me to the new Mel Gibson movie about Jesus's life, because i was a non believer. This statement crushed me. We've always had a disagreement about religion. Here is what i have thought, felt, and believed for a long time. Everyone gets to go where they want to when they die. Yes there might be a censored, but it's of a person's own making. That's my basic tenet and here are my reasons why i believe that. It's not fair. The whole system's not fair. If someone dies and they have to go to censored, because of the culture or religion they were brought up in. What happened to everyone before Jesus decided to show up. What happened to all the people in the world, before missionaries came along. If what the Christian's say is true. Then everyone is dead. Everyone is dead and there is no hope at all, so from that standpoint what is the point of even existing, if u can't go home after it's over. I mean what happened to the anciet Celts, Norse, and Germanic peoples of the past. What happened to all the Native American people who lived in North and South America. And what about all the other relgions and there people Muslim, Hinduism, Confucision, and all the Oriental and Eastern religions? I can't see how all these human beings could be dead. I know that Cristians would say that a tribe of Isreal got away and made a new home. But i believe in evolution, archeology, and anthropolgy there just to much history in this great world to say that one set of beliefs is better then another. I've read The Left Behind Books and other stories and there all good for saying how the world might end. Finally, I just have to say that I once was of the Christian pursuasion. I did go to a Christian High School and it was the most miserable year of my life. I couldn't be myself. I could not talk to my freinds about sci-fi, horror movies, or the latest episode of Sightings. I couldn't even express the enthusiasm I had for Halloween. Right now I like the Celtic pursuasion and have read up on that, but as stated earlier with my dad I've had my whole religious base shaken again. I know anyone would say it's up to the individual to be comfortable with the choice. We'll i will have to make a choice soon. I don't want to live my life in fear. I want to know that there is something concrete afterwards or nothing at all. Everyone would have an ans and I beginning to think it's as much as the human mind can imagine to create it's own reality, about any given situation. I will read ur works mam, I have read What Dreams May Come and that is the answer I have believed, I will read the works of philosophy, and the works of Joseph Campbell. I think these are the ways to start out again. Church and christians are a good idea. I just don't want to be miserable for the rest of my life though. So i will begin with ur first book, because I heard about it on Oprah a while ago. Thank u for letting me get this off my chest and i will Post a message soon to tell u what i think of ur work. Thank-you for your books. I just bought the ripple effect and I cannot put it down. I had an experience when I was in my twenties and to be honest I really dont know what it was. I took a short-cut through a field on my bike when something told me that my brakes would not work. I tried them and I could not stop the bike. I never felt the impact of the car hitting me. I felt this incredible sense of peace and warmth and I was watching my life being played backwards in slow motion. I came too with the driver standing over me crying as he thought that he had killed me. Thank-you for the comfort that your books give me. May god bless you Jan

A friend from the US sent me your book, Embraced by the Light, after our son died in February. I loved this book and read it within 2 days. I know my son didn't die, but went into the spirit world as I feel him very near to me. Several of his friends have had vivid dreams with him and all said that he seemed so very happy. He also sent messages to me through them. One thing that had always puzzled me was that one of his friends who is a psychic, when informed that our Raffi had died, said that she knew it already, since he had already contacted her the previous night. After reading your book and the passage where you say that the souls do not necessarily leave their bodies only at the time of death, it clarified this. I have a cousin in the south of Brasil who when she heard that our son was so very ill, went out to buy a CD for him. As she was brousing through the music store, she says she distictly heard my sons voice in her head saying: think of my mother, I will not hear this music anymore... Raffaello and I were very close and I miss him very much, but I know he had acomplished what he came to do on this earth and returned to God. So I am very much at peace and so is my husband. Whenever I need some assistance, be it with my office work, or a problem I call on Raffi to help and somehow things work out. Your book has helped me very much to clarify some open questions. Hi Betty, My friend gave me your book as a gift, I am not much of a reader. But, as I picked up "Embraced by the light" I could hardly tear away from it. I related to this book very much, the details of the things you seen, heard and learned through your experience answered a lot of questions for me. I have always had the faith of GOD inside of me, since I was a child. I have always believed in doing good things for others (and still do)! Before I read your book alot of the things you talk about, remind me of myself like having a giving and loving heart. Although we are all born with sin, and we will all have sins until the day we meet our Lord, Jesus was the only perfect spirit that walked the earth. Dear Betty: This is the second time I read your book as am moved by it more this time. I now understand why I went through all I did in my lifetime and now know that I am ready for a more positive energy to enter into my life. I am giving my book to my daughter, who has also gone through rough times in her short lifetime, in the hopes that she finds some healing within the pages. I also beieve that you can communicate with those who have left us as my Dad passed away when I was 16 and I know he saw our children as I saw him standing at the foot of our bed one night and I showed him our children and he said how beautiful they both were and it made my heart sing. We lost our Mum 2 years ago and I know that I also saw her standing in our bedroom one day as I was having a theraputic touch treatment, she appeared as an angel standing by my dresser and it gave me such peace knowing she is still by my side.Thanks for helping us all understand life better.Both my sister and husband have had near death experiences and after listening to them they had similar experiences to what you had. Thanks for the insight and undertsanding about life. Love to you all
