After my dad passed away, my mother just couldn't
handle his death. They had been married for over 50 years and were inseparable
spirits here on earth. So she believed that she had no reason to continue
living once he was gone. In the coming months, she remained quite depressed.
She insisted that Dad had come to her several times and had spoken to her.
I truly believed her, since I had had similar experiences since his passing.
Finally, after a brief illness,
Mom passed away. She died just a few short months after Dad left us. One
night, I was awakened by a finger firmly thumping me on the chest. It was
my mother. She was smiling, and a wonderful feeling of peace and love filled
my bedroom. My dad was standing in the corner by the foot of the bed. He
was smiling, too. He never said a word, but my mother definitely communicated
to me that they were together and very happy. They both looked so young
and healthy! It was such a wonderful experience that I did not want to end.
Although my dad and I had enjoyed
a close relationship, my mother and I had not been close. But on the day
before her death, we had spent several hours talking about many issues we
should have dealt with years before. So it was particularly helpful to me
to feel so much love in that room and to see Mom and Dad together and so
very happy.
I just wanted to share this story
with everyone. The spirits of our loved ones truly do come back to us, and
it helps us with the grieving and healing process to know that they are
in a much happier place now.
