QUOTE ABOUT GRATITUDE FROM "EMBRACED BY THE LIGHT"
I also understood the importance of thanking God for the things we receive. Gratitude is an eternal virtue. In humility we must ask, and in gratitude we should receive. The more we thank God for the blessings we receive, the more we open the way for further blessings. His desire to bless us is full to overflowing. If we will open our hearts and minds to receive his blessings, we too will be filled to overflowing. (page 107)

BIBLE VERSE
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To show forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. (Psalms 92:1-2)

PRAYER
Gratitude in prayer may be as simple as: "Thank you. Thank you, Father, for all that I have...especially for your love!"

Mother's Prayers
God's Tiny Miracles

Here's an example, not yet available on the regular website pages, of a beautiful Mother's Prayer story:

Hi, I am a twenty-seven year old mother. I have two wonderful boys, one is seven and one is four I wouldn't change anything about them, however I still felt as though something were missing. I had always dreamed about having a little girl. In September of 1999 I became pregnant with my third child. It was an unplanned pregnancy and my husband wasn't happy about it. He left in November of '99. Things looked bleak but I was so excited about the new baby, I hoped for a girl. I prayed to God several times thanking him for his blessing, and to provide a healthy baby to our family. I also prayed for strength and guidance through the separation from my husband. I felt is was wrong to ask God for a baby girl, but he can see into our hearts and I couldn't help but long for one. I went to my ultrasound on February 8th, and anxiously waited to be seen. I was on pins and needles when they finally called me back to the room. The technician made a comment that I looked rather large for my gestation, but I informed her that I was large with my other pregnancies also. As she set the paddle on my tummy she commented "I can tell you why you're so big, there is more than one!" I was in shock. I questioned her "Twins?" She replied "no honey, triplets." I couldn't believe it, my next question of course was if they were boys or girls, or both. It was confirmed that all three of them were indeed girls. They were born on May 2nd. All three beautiful and healthy. I know God listens, he knows what is in our hearts. I am so grateful for everything he has done for me and my family. Every time I look at my children, boys and girls, I feel so much love. I feel the love I have for them, and the love God has for us.

I am pleased that Roy Mills' book, The Soul's Remembrance, is touching many lives. Here is a powerful, thought-provoking quote:

It often takes adversity to shake us up and help us grow, but God wants His children to be happy in their earthly lives, too. After choosing my life experiences, I was told to also have fun while I was here. This life may be a "vale of tears," but it is also supposed to be a time of joy. And how much joy we experience is up to us. When we realize that we, ourselves, chose many of the difficulties in our lives, and that all things happen for a reason, we begin to let go of earthbound thinking. We can give up the crutches we use to fill the emptiness in our lives---alcohol, drugs, money, meaningless sex, prestige, and power. When our eyes are opened, we begin to see things as they really are. We begin to understand that life isn't cruel or unfair, but is a spiritual journey that leads us to meaning and joy and real happiness. Knowing the truth about ourselves sets us free to be the happy, loving people God wants us to be. (pages 122-123)
