  God Is Our Father
"I began to teach my children differently. First I taught them that God loved them unconditionally and that they were a part of him--literally, his spiritual children. As a parent he wanted only the best for them..." (The Awakening Heart p. 19)

Scripture Verse
"...they should seek the Lord...and find him, though he be not far from every one of us; For in him we live, and move, and have our being...For we are also his offspring." (Acts 17:27-28, KJV)

Prayer
Father, thank you for the whisperings of the spirit that tell me I am your child. Thank you for your tender Fatherly care and for loving me just as I am.

A Valentine From Father
Below is an Internet link I received from my sister, Penny, who devotes her life to loving and serving our Heavenly Father. The link leads to a touching reminder that God truly is our Father, and that he loves us as his precious children. In The Awakening Heart I wrote that my closeness to God increased greatly once I began thinking of him as a Father. In my prayers I began simply talking to him as a child to a parent. I shared with him my joys and fears. And I thanked him for all the ways he expressed himself in my life, which became overwhelmingly numerous as I began opening my eyes to them. When I went to heaven, I saw God, and so I could no longer believe in an abstract Universal Power. I saw the Man behind that power, the Father, who created the universe and placed all knowledge within it. He brought us into being as his spirit children long before we were born here. He prepared this earth and every needful thing for our happiness and growth. He knows his children, each one by name, and he loves them unconditionally. There is no force in all of creation more powerful than God's love for us. We may not remember him clearly because of the veil placed over our minds, but the knowledge of him remains deep within us. We may call it intuition or inspiration. When we follow our hearts, when we are in tune and balanced, and when we listen to the still inner voice within us, we know. And Our Father will reveal himself to us as we open ourselves more to him. If you would like to know him better, following the link below is a place to begin. It is titled "Father's Love Letter", but this is a good time of year to think of it as a "Valentine" from the One who loves us the most...the One whose loving arms are always outstretched toward us and whose tender voice gently calls us Home.
