From Telecourse 1 "Before Earth Began"
Study Guide:
Since the veil does not block memories
from your spirit, consider how bright
and capable your spirit truly is. God
created you for your perfect journey
to earth, then he knitted you to perfection
in your mother's womb. Within you remains
all the knowledge and experience you
need to succeed. Why is the "veil of
forgetfulness" necessary? What difference
does it make in God's broad plan for
us? Consider this story: Once there
was a master maze builder. People came
from far and wide to walk his mazes.
His ingenious constructions gave all
who entered them the excitement of solving
a confounding puzzle where every turn
could lead them to freedom or to a dead
end. Through trial and error, many who
entered his mazes discovered the solution
and would emerge, smiling, out of the
maze. Those who had to be helped out
emerged smiling, too. For everyone likes
the dizzying challenge of being lost
in the safe environment of a good maze.
One day an interviewer questioned the
maze builder: "As a master maze builder,
is your greatest desire to create a
perfect maze that would stump everyone
who tried it?" The answer came: "My
greatest desire is just once to forget
the way through one of my mazes and
thereby experience the joy of entering
and discovering the solution for myself."
