Heavenly Father,

We light this candle in memory of those who have died from cancer and pray for those who have lost loved ones. Bless them, Father, to feel their loved ones near, yet free from the pain and suffering of this world. Bless them to know that the bonds of love are eternal, that their loved ones feel their love and are mindful of them, that they will be reunited again with homecoming of great beauty and joy.

So many lives and families are affected by this terrible disease. Nearly all of us are touched in some way, either suffering ourselves or caring for a loved one in pain and our hearts ache, missing those who have passed on. Bless each who suffer and battle this disease with strength and guidance that they might overcome. Bless each heart in despair with courage, hope and to find your peace. Bless each caregiver with stamina, compassion, wisdom and love. Bless those who have passed from this world and draw them to you. Bless us to find the ways to cure this terrible disease. Bless those who research and work toward a cure to be guided, that their minds might be open and enlightened to the blessings of help you desire for all of us. Thank you, Father, for your tender mercies and unconditional love.
